Single finial to door patchboxes evolved from sliding wood doors to solve the problem of bad fit and warping. This early Pre-Revolutionary style box is from an original rifle by John Rupp from the Allentown-Bethlehem School of gunsmithing. Overall:1-1/2"x 6-1/8". Door:1-1/2"x 4-3/16". Not engraved.
