A French Type C Dragoon Trigger guard. Features a beautiful acanthus leaf in the urn of the finial with decorative beveling cast into the guard. Works in the French period 1730 to 1760 appearing on higher quality officers grade weapons. The OAL is 7", the bow length is 2", the bow depth is 1", and the length from the front of the bow to the tip of the leaf at the front of the piece is 2 1/4".
